Trade Cities are territories on planets that have economic infrastructure.
- All trade cities (player and NPC) sell crates for Cargo Trading and allow for player shops via the Bazaar.
- Trade Cities are safezones - you cannot be hurt while within the territory, and explosions cannot take place.
- Stealing is still allowed by the nation that owns the Trade City.
- Exporter: Buy cargo crates
- Importer: Sell cargo crates
- Bazaar: Purchase from other players on the local Bazaar
- Merchant: (Not functioning at the moment)
- Bounty Broker: Get a bounty on another player (Currently disabled)
- A Settlement that meets certain requirements can apply to be a trade city. While the requirements are mostly subjective, here are some:
- Must have a central trade tower to hold NPCs
- Must "feel" like a city (both in cityscape and in liveliness)
- Must have infrastructure to support ship parking (landing pads and docking tubes)
- Carthage, Lioda (Republic of Carthage)
- Orlandia, Aret (Imperial Nova)
- Similar in function to a Player Trade City, but owned by NPCs.
- Commonly referred to as -osts.
