'''Apollyon''' is a massive space station in southeastern [[Regulus]] created by [[FellOffBridge]] and serves as [[Vask Authority]]'s main headquarters.

The station houses Vask Authority's two supercapitals, the [[battlecruiser]] "CALAMITY" and the [[cruiser]] "HMS MOGGERTRON", alongside several light [[frigate]]s, (notably "HMS ONSLAUGHT", Vask Authority Director [[_Clone1137]]'s main warship), [[gunship]]s and the Vask Authority flagship, the attack [[destroyer]] "Patrick" before it was retired.

Apollyon contains over half of the Vask Authority's total material wealth, and houses their industrial [[freighters]] (including the Vask Authority [[barge]], which was instrumental in allowing the nation to keep up with the economy of the [[Ilios Alliance]] during their conflict), [[printers]] and munitions plants.

The station is modeled after the EVE Online station "Astrahus". The station's name was chosen to mirror the [[Vega]]n station's name, the [[Abaddon]]. Apollyon's role as [[Vask Authority]]'s main base of operations is to be taken by [[Osric]] upon the its completion.

= History =

The station had been in development for months while [[FellOffBridge]] was a member of [[Vega]] and was finally constructed when he inherited the [[Andurian Federation]] and formed the [[Vask Authority]].

Apollyon took over a week to print. Anticipating this, Vask Authority directors declared a no-entry zone to all non Vask Authority personnel around the station to the east of the planet [[Vask]], dubbing it a hazardous "gas leak" and using the idea that this "gas" was detrimental to a player's mental state as an excuse to purge anyone who came close to Apollyon during construction. This was done not only to keep the specifications and capabilities of the station secret but by the time of construction, the [[battlecruiser]] "ARMAGEDDON" and the [[cruiser]] "HMS MOGGERTRON" were already fully operational and stored in the station claim, but without ammunition. Vask Authority leadership hoped to keep their supercapital trump cards at least somewhat hidden as the discovery of these warships would put politically opposing nations on edge, potentially causing a conflict before Apollyon was ready, which would result in ammunition for the supercapitals having to be imported from their ally [[Vega]] and the ships being stored in the middle of space with no protection.

Apollyon would be attacked many times by small squadrons of [[Ilios Alliance]] [[starfighters]], only ever being attacked twice by large fleets days after the station became operational, the station was successfully defended during the first assault, resulting in the sinking of a [[Imperial Nova]]n attack [[frigate]], the "NIF Valiance" on the 11th of June 2024.

The second attack came the same day, a fleet of eight Ilios Alliance warships attacked the installation, attempting to kill Vask Authority director [[z4nityy]] after he pirated a member of their alliance. Shortly after this attack, the Vask Authority Board of Directors posted a list of [[Ilios Alliance]] members marked for termination, spiralling the conflict out of control and sparking the [[Ilios Alliance-Vask Authority War]]. After the outbreak, the Vask Authority made it known that supercapitals were housed at Apollyon, making it clear that attacking the station with capital ships was more risk than it was worth.

The station was used for the construction of the Vask Authority [[barge]], the second Vask Authority [[battlecruiser]], the "CALAMITY" commanded by [[z4nityy]] and the third and final battlecruiser, the "CATACLYSM", which was constructed to replace the newly lost "ARMAGEDDON". The station has also housed these vessels ever since their construction. The Vask Authority flagship "Patrick" was also housed at this station until being transferred to [[Hegemony]] on the 27th of December 2024.

Apollyon had a few main flaws (vertical supercapital hangars, lack of factories outside of ammunition plants, lack of housing for potential recruits) that would make a plan [[FellOffBridge]] and [[z4nityy]] had divised to recruit more members to the Vask Authority to help ease the large number disparity the nation was suffering in the conflict against the [[Ilios Alliance]] too difficult, which lead to the construction of a potential station named [[Osric]] starting on the 20th of June. However, this station design was sold to [[Vega]] for three and a half million credits, and development of the actual station design began on the 12th of July 2024.

After the majority of the Vask Authority leadership were banned, Apollyon's ownership was transferred to [[z4nityy]] on the 10th of August, 2024. The station remains under his ownership to this day.

The station has a dry mass of over 600,000 blocks, and contains two [[battlecruiser]] hangars, three [[Light Frigate|light frigate]] hangars, three [[gunship]] hangars and eight [[starfighter]] hangars, allowing it to house an armada totalling 60,000 blocks.
