Jump Beacon

Resource Requirements

The Jump Beacon is a multiblock that allows you to light a path for members of your fleet to jump to you across systems, but within the same region. Activating this beacon with /jumpbeacon freezes your ship in place for 60 seconds, during which time your fleet members who have Jump Field Generators can /jump [yourname] to jump to your location, from any other system in the Region. This multiblock is only available on the Recon Fighter, Interdiction Corvette, Interdiction Destroyer, and Industrial Command Ships.

These cannot be used in Ost Systems, which means that there will still be danger in traveling between regions when attempting to use Jump Beacons to guide something like a Jump Freighter.

That being said, these beacons have many uses from ambush tactics to stealth hauling. For ambush tactics, you could have a fleet spread out across several systems all converge onto one ship if you're hunting down certain players. On top of that you could do trojan horse style tactics, where you have a Industrial Command Ship that looks like its easy to destroy, but then have several other ships jump in on top of it, in tandem with the use of the Industrial Invulnerability Unit. For hauling, you could have a Recon Fighter go ahead of a Jump Freighter with the intention of ensuring there are no enemies in the system you wish to move your freighter to, then lighting a beacon for the freigther to jump to. There are of course countless other ways this multiblock can be utilized, however many of those come from the players own ingenuity, so feel free to try new things and see if they work.

Note: You can only use these to jump to fleet members, so if you wish to use any tactics involving these, you must create a fleet with the people you wish to have jump to the beacon.
