An '''Advanced hopper''' is a [[multiblock]] that periodically picks up items in an area 3x16x3 starting from the top of the chiseled stone brick going upward. It only works if you have been standing in the same chunk for 10 seconds or longer, it then initiates the scanning process which registers the advanced hopper into the game, or a periodic 6 minute scan can also initiate the scanning. This multiblock does not work on [[starship]]s as it is intended for loaded base industry where normal item pickup systems become inefficient such as over capacity of hoppers, this advanced hopper pulls all available items within its range and deposits straight into the storage container below. | |||

An Advanced hopper is a multiblock that periodically picks up items in an area 3x16x3 starting from the top of the chiseled stone brick going upward. It only works if you have been standing in the same chunk for 10 seconds or longer, it then initiates the scanning process which registers the advanced hopper into the game, or a periodic 6 minute scan can also initiate the scanning. This multiblock does not work on starships as it is intended for loaded base industry where normal item pickup systems become inefficient such as over capacity of hoppers, this advanced hopper pulls all available items within its range and deposits straight into the storage container below.
An advanced hopper is made by combining blocks in this vertical order:
- Chiseled stone bricks
- Cauldron (empty)
- A storage container (chest etc)
