-The '''Recon Fighter''' is a Tech 2 variant of the [[Starfighter]] which is meant for quick information gathering. This is the smallest vessel that can equip a [[Jump Beacon]], and the smallest vessel that can field the [[Probe]] launcher. This means that it is well suited for tracking down players or other points of interest and calling in an allied fleet. It has a small contact radius of 700m, faster hyperdrive warmup times than other ships, and the ability to light a path for allied ships with the jump beacon. That being said, the ship has no weapons, weak shields and slow cruise, meaning it is incredibly vulnerable if detected. As such it must use it's small detection radius to it's advantage to keep itself alive by staying hidden, and use its fast hyperdrive warmup to escape if enemies do seem to be approaching.
