Tractor Beams are starship utility multiblocks used to tow structures.
Usage
A Tractor Beam Structure must be fully assembled to function; at least 1 middle segment, and both ends are necessary. When fully assembled, it may be fired as if it were a weapon on a starship, including following weapon sets.
When clicking on a structure, it will begin the process of acquiring the structure. Each middle segment of a Tractor Beam provides 10,000 blocks of towing capacity. A tractor beam cannot tow structures larger than its capacity. Additionally, tractor beams cannot tow water or lava, detected starships, active starships, celestial bodies, area shields, or blocks protected by claims. If the structure is acquired, then it will default to following the towing starship. The tow mode can be changed using {code|/towmode}} to select from FOLLOW, WASD, or LOOK.
The FOLLOW tow mode is the default. Towed structures will follow your ships movement, and the offset between it and your starship cannot be manipulated. The WASD tow mode converts your WASD controls to manipulate the towed object. Pressing W will move it forward in the direction you are looking, and vice versa. Crouching will lower the object, and jumping will raise it, and rotational controls will rotate the structure. The LOOK tow mode will cause the objects center to move towards the direction you are looking. The scroll wheel is used to move it closer, or farther away, and rotational controls will rotate the structure. Normal starship controls cannot be used when in WASD, or LOOK.
Towed structures may not enter areas that the user does not have build access to, such as claims or NPC regions. A towed object can be released by firing the tractor beam at it again, or releasing your starship. It will also be lost if all of its extents move beyond the multiblock's range.
Variants

The Tractor Beam has a horizontal, and vertical variant. The vertical variants follow the same pattern, but are assembled upwards, or downwards. The sign on these variants is placed on the side of the multiblock, on the bottom most aluminum block.
