CATACLYSM was a battlecruiser owned by Vask Authority and was the first battlecruiser sunk in survival, during the Ilios Alliance-Vask Authority War. The ship was constructed and used by FellOffBridge to be an improved design over the ARMAGEDDON by removing its predecessors flaws and employing a shape better suited for fighting other battlecruisers.
History
Construction of the CATACLYSM's blueprint began on the 30th of June 2024 and was accelerated after a conflict between Vask Authority and a joint Arimfea-Imperial Nova fleet on the 16th July 2024, in which the lack of Point Defense Turrets left the CALAMITY (at this time, the same design as the ARMAGEDDON) vulnerable to boarding or other on-foot attacks, resulting in it being trapped and nearly swarmed were it not for its defending escort, nearly resulting in the loss of the CALAMITY and sinking of the Vask Authority flagship, Patrick.
Construction of the CATACLYSM was completed on the 19th July 2024.
The CATACLYSM was sunk on the 26th July 2024, just a week after her construction. Her destruction led to Vask Authority Directors FellOffBridge and z4nityy believing that they could no longer fight an alliance as large as the Ilios Alliance without Vega, and moved to negotiating peace despite the objections of Director _Clone1137.
