Black Ops Frigates are a Tech 2 variant of the Frigate. Contrary to other Tech 2 ships, the Black Ops Frigate does not gain access to Tech 2 weapons. That being said it, it can use 2 Phasers instead of just one allowing for high burst damage. Additionally it has access to the Disruptor and the Jump Field Generator. This means it can jump across systems to ambush enemies or aid allies. The ship has a small contact radius of 750 meters, and is fairly fast, but also fairly fragile, with low shield strength and regen. This means that if caught by a webifier or quickly focused by missile and assault ships, the Black Ops Frigate can be swiftly destroyed.
