Deep Space systems are a group containing a variety of systems with some unique mechanics. Some Deep Space Systems can be claimed by nations under the Sovereignty system. There are 27 Claimable Systems, in addition to three Trade Systems, five Mining Systems, and six Border Systems.
Additionally, compared to Core Systems, the contacts range is halved, down to 1250m.
Deep Space Systems are shown in the map to the right using square icons, with Green indicating Claimable Systems, Yellow indicating Trade Systems, and Red indicating Border Systems.
Cosmic Signatures
Cosmic Signatures are wrecks, asteroid fields, and NPC loci which can only be found in Deep Space. For more information see the dedicated page on them, and for additional information on locating them, see the page on Probes. Cosmic signatures are the only sources of Atavum and Zircon, and the primary sources of Scordite and Vanadium for Nations capable of defending their Mining Ships.
Trade Systems
A Trade System is a type of system specializing in trade. These are the only systems in Deep Space regions where you can buy and sell Cargo Crates, and access the Bazaar. Sunder, Axis, and Conduit are the trade systems of Fracture, Spine, and Monolith respectively. Crate runs between deep space trade systems are substantially more profitable than those between trade cities or between a trade system and a trade city. These systems are unclaimable.
Mining Systems
Mining Systems are systems in deep space that are unclaimable and reset weekly. Within them, you can find rare naturally-spawning Scordite and Vanadium, as well as a significantly higher density of Tech-1 ores (Iron, Coal, etc.). Current mining systems are Fault, Reliquary, Vertigo, and Anchor.
Border Systems
Border Systems are systems in Deep Space that are unclaimable and currently serve little special purpose. Meridian and D-1LA can both have Cosmic Signatures spawn within them.
Claimable Systems
Claimable Systems are a type of space under the Sovereignty system. Nations must have sufficient power and pay 250,000 Credits to claim these systems. Once claimed by a nation, these systems can only be sieged/claimed by other nations if the controlling nation has insufficient power for their number of claimed systems, or if the owning nation is unable to pay the 2,000 Credit/day upkeep..
