rewrite that ambush tactic with ICS; no one is stupid enough to get jumped in an ICS, it's clearly a trap. AFG or HF sieging is a much better idea, and HF sieging means you don't spend any money.

The Jump Beacon is a multiblock that allows you to light a path for members of your fleet to jump to you across the Region. Activating this beacon with /jumpbeacon freezes your ship in place for 60 seconds, during which time, fleet members who have Jump Field Generators can /jump [yourname] to jump to your location from any other system in the region. After 60 seconds have elapsed, you cannot use the Jump Beacon for two minutes. (Tied to UUID.) This multiblock is available on Medium Freighters, Heavy Freighters, Cruisers, Barges, Battlecruisers, Recon Craft, Interdictor Corvettes, Assault Frigates, Interdictor Destroyers, and Industrial Command Ships.

That being said, these beacons have many uses, from ambush tactics to stealth hauling. For ambush tactics, you could have a fleet in a Claimable or Core System jump to a Recon in a Mining System once it finds a noteworthy target. On top of that, you could do trojan horse style tactics, where you have a Heavy Freighter, which looks like an easy target, siege a Regional Objective and jump in Logistics Ships with Black Ops Frigates and Supercapital starships to defend it if a sufficient countersiege force appears. For hauling, you could have a Recon Craft go ahead of a Jump Freighter with the intention of ensuring there are no enemies in the system you wish to move your freighter to, then light a beacon for the freighter to jump to.

Note: You can only use these to jump to fleet members, so if you wish to use any tactics involving these, you must create a fleet with the people you wish to have jump to the beacon.

Specifics

  • Lets Fleet Members in your Region jump to you.
  • Lasts 60 Seconds, during which you are immobilized.
  • Has a hard set cooldown of 2 minutes, which is tied to the pilot.
  • Cannot be activated in natural Gravity Wells
