Ion turrets are light weapons similar to the Webifier, only available on the Cruiser, reducing speed by 40% for 20 seconds on hit. Ion turret projectiles are very slow, and deal low damage in comparison to other Medium Core Starships. These turrets are notable in their high Area Shield Damage Multipliers, meaning a Cruiser can breach an Area Shield which is being constantly fed max Power in 90s.

Ion turrets require Charged Shells as ammunition.
