(The) United Federation of Planets, commonly referred to as UFP or UFoP, is one of the server's oldest nations. Originally founded on Horizon End's predecessor server, StarLegacy, by DoctorXeno, UFP is a roleplay-lite nation based on the IP of Star Trek. Today the nation is lead by Fleet Admiral killer666dog. UFP members are divided into two categories, Civilian and Starfleet, with Starfleet acting as both the military and governmental offices of the Federation.

UFP is widely known for their pacifism and diplomacy, often preferring to talk rather than fight. Although preferring to remain pacifist, UFP should not be underestimated. Despite their unconventional design, Starfleet ships are widely regarded as some of the best on the server.

History

Internal Politics and Governance

Members of UFP are divided into two categories: Starfleet and Civilian.

Starfleet

The Academy

Members who choose to join the ranks of Starfleet must attend Starfleet Academy, located in SanFrancisco. At the academy, Cadets go through several weeks of training in various categories including (but not limited to) PvP, ship building, and server mechanics. After initial training, members specialize into one of three departments (Tactical, Operations, or Sciences) to finish their training, after which they graduate as an Ensign.

Starfleet Divisions

Starfleet is split into three divisions, each of which are color-coded.

  • Tactical (Red):Tactical officers are the primary PVP force of Starfleet. Tactical officers' duties include nation defense, escort duty, and security.
  • Operations (Gold/Yellow): Ops officers are the backbone of Starfleet. The duties of an Ops officer includes construction, demolition, mining, transport, and other forms of manual labor.
  • Sciences (Blue): Science officers are the technical minds behind Starfleet. Science officers spend the majority of their time developing new technology. Their duties include ship design (both civilian and military), infrastructure development, and technology analysis.

Additionally, there is one more division that is reserved for Flag Officers and Captains, Command.

  • Command (Red): Command Officers act as the administrative branch of UFP. Command officers engage in management, diplomacy, UFP onboarding, and project oversight.

Starfleet Rank Structure

Starfleet Ranks, unlike divisions, are not color coded. Starfleet follows a rank structure similar to real-world navies. The ranks (from highest to lowest) are as follows:

  • Fleet Admiral
  • Admiral
  • Vice Admiral
  • Captain
  • Commander
  • Lieutenant Commander
  • Lieutenant
  • Lieutenant Jr. Grade
  • Ensign
  • Cadet

Uniforms

Like many military-coded nations on Horizon's End, Starfleet Officers are required to wear a uniform when performing official duties. Flag Officers wear a slightly different uniform to differentiate themselves.
