This guide will explain the basics of setting up piping systems. Transport items quickly across far distances.

Glass and Stained Glass are blocks that items can travel through. Items from different colors of piping will not mix. |

Crafting Tables are container outputs. A container block adjacent to a crafting table will have its items removed as long as there are valid pipes and receiving containers to transport to. Any container touching a pipe will receive items from a container-output system. |

This is an example of a simple piping system. Items from the dropper will be extracted, travel through the lime stained glass, and be deposited into the single chest. Likewise, items from the double chest will be extracted and deposited into the furnace via the red stained glass. Items being transported will not mix into the other system due to different piping colors. |

This Power Furnace will automatically smelt items placed into the three double chests. The pipes connect to the stained glass behind the Power Furnace's furnace. |
Hoppers act as filters. When connected to pipes, they will only send items that are inside them. This allows you to build sorting systems.
Description |

Items in the extracted double chest will only transfer to the bottom chests if the items to be transported match the items in the hopper. This system allows you to filter up to fifteen items, five per chest. |
A Splitter is a more advanced hopper filter that can store more items to filter and separate non-filtered items. See more at the Splitter article.
