Transferring Builds Between Survival, Creative, Experimental, and Singleplayer Worlds

From Horizon's End Wiki

The following methods can be used to transfer ships, terrain, and other builds between servers or to and from singleplayer worlds.

Transferring Ships Between Survival and Creative[edit | edit source]

Detectable starships and buildings can be saved using /blueprint save [name] confirm while piloting a ship and /blueprint load [name] to load the saved blueprint in creative. It is against the server rules (Rule 8) to save blueprints of ships, buildings, or other builds that you do not own or have permission to use, including intact AI ships.

Transferring Planetary Terrain to Creative[edit | edit source]

Large selections of a planet's terrain may be transferred to a creative plot by submitting a support ticket in the Horizon's End Discord server. Alternatively, players may transfer smaller chunks of terrain themselves using the Litematica & Worldedit method below.

Using Litematica & WorldEdit to Transfer Terrain or Builds to Creative[edit | edit source]

To use this method, you must have the Litematica and WorldEdit mods installed on your Minecraft client, and you should be familiar with basic WorldEdit functions. A Fabric installation is recommended for best performance, although working with large regions may still cause significant lag, FPS drops, freezes, or crashes, even on higher-end computer hardware.

Do not attempt to paste WorldEdit selections larger than 256x256x383 or 1024x1024x10, and wait at least 15 minutes between such pastes to avoid lagging or crashing the server. Repeatedly lagging or crashing the server with improper use of WorldEdit may cause you to lose WorldEdit usage permissions, or be temporarily or permanently banned. You have been warned.
  1. Use Litematica to select a region that you would like to save.
    • You do not need to select underground areas if you do not plan to build underground in creative, or empty sky areas.
  2. Save the selected region as a schematic using Litematica.
    • If the selected region is outside of your render distance, you may have to walk around until all chunks in the region are loaded and Litematica indicates that the region is saved.
  3. On a superflat singleplayer world, load your saved schematic and place it in an open area.
    • If your schematic extends to near the world height limit, you may need place the schematic low in the world.
    • Make sure to clear any intersecting terrain before moving to the next step.
    • If working with a terrain region, avoid rotating or mirroring your schematic.
  4. Paste the schematic in the world.
    • For large regions, you may have to fly around and load all chunks for the schematic to be fully pasted.
    • The schematic preview can be disabled after the paste is complete.
  5. Using WorldEdit, make a selection of the region.
    • Do not make selections larger than 256x256x383 or 1024x1024x10, because pasting them in Creative may lag or crash the server.
  6. Use //copy followed by //schematic save [name] to save your region as a .schematic file.
    • If you need to paste multiple chunks of terrain, you should stand in one corner at bedrock level/y-64 when running //copy for easier alignment later when pasting into creative.
  7. In your computer's file manager, navigate to .minecraft\config\worldedit\schematics\ and locate your saved schematic.
  8. Upload your .schematic file to the Horizon's End FAWE website.
  9. Copy the text shown in the pop-up after uploading your file.
  10. On the Creative server and in a plot that you have WorldEdit permissions in, paste the copied command into chat. Use //paste to paste the schematic into Creative.
    • If pasting multiple chunks of terrain, you should stand in one corner of your plot at bedrock level/y0 when running //paste for easier alignment.
    • A paste may take several seconds to complete. Do not spam the command.
    • If a schematic does not fully paste in, and the top is cut off, then your schematic has too many block entities. Remove all nonessential chests, signs, and other block entities in singleplayer, then save a new schematic.
  11. If the region you want to transfer is larger than 256x256x383 or 1024x1024x10, repeat steps 5 through 10 until your region is fully transferred.
    • Wait at least 15 minutes between each //paste operation of large regions to avoid lagging or crashing the server.

Downloading Builds from Creative[edit | edit source]

WorldEdit can be used to download .schematic files directly from the creative server. You must have either the Litematica or WorldEdit mods installed on your Minecraft client.

  1. Using WorldEdit, make a selection of the region you wish to download.
  2. Use //copy followed by //download, then follow the link to download your .schematic.
  3. Give the downloaded file a more descriptive name, then move it to .minecraft\config\worldedit\schematics\.
    • Litematica can also be used to paste .schematic and .schem files. If using Litematica, move the file to .minecraft\schematics\.
  4. In a singleplayer world, use //schematic load [schematic name (excluding .schematic)] and //paste to load and paste the schematic in the world.
    • If using Litematica to paste a schematic, follow steps 3 & 4 of the above guide to load and paste the schematic in the world.

Transferring Ships to Experimental[edit | edit source]

The Experimental server does not share a blueprints database with Creative and Survival, so ships must be manually transferred using FAWE upload/download.

  1. Using WorldEdit in Creative, make a region selection of the ship you wish to download.
  2. Use //copy followed by //download, then follow the link to download your .schematic.
  3. Give the downloaded file a more descriptive name, then upload your .schematic file to the Horizon's End FAWE website.
  4. Copy the text shown in the pop-up after uploading your file.
  5. On the Experimental server, paste the copied command into chat. Use //paste to paste the schematic.
  6. Save a blueprint of your ship for later use.
