Clicking on any block, as if to mine with a pickaxe, will instantly break the block, or multiple blocks if a mod providing that ability installed. Holding shift while mining will disable any mods that expand the number of blocks mined. 10 power is used when a block is mined, or more if a mod is installed that consumes more.
They can be recharged by placing the Power Drill inside an [[Item Charger]].
Like other power tools, they may be dyed, or have their dye removed in a cauldron.

Basic power drills were present on the server during launch, having previously been a feature in [[Star Legacy]]. The Enhanced and Advanced variants were added as part of the [[Power Tools Update]]. The ability to dye tools was added alongside the [[AI Overhaul]] update.
