The Solar War is a large scale conflict between primarily the nations of Vega, Radiance, Lonestar, and Imperial Nova. It is the largest war since the Vega-Nova War in April 2025.

Prelude

Prior to the beginning of the war, nations Vega and Radiance had entered a period of mostly prolonged inactivity. During this time, members of Lonestar had the highest activity on the server. Vega attempted to sell stations and a few were bought, this also prompted a server wide station purchasing shift, Nova who claimed to already be at war with Vega took a station (not purchased) just before the first skirmish.

Side A comment: The war, according to Vegan accounts, began here, when Zealandia1 of SettlerGod sieged DeepSpaceSignalGamma, then belonging to Vega. The siege was successful, prompting Solesey of Vega to attempt resieging the station. Upon arriving at the station, he was confronted by Lonestar forces which had been hired to defend the station from any attackers, Solesey decided to abandon the siege to avoid being sunk by the numerically superior Lonestar forces.

Side A comment: After failing to prevent the siege or recapture the siege station, a Vegan assault force consisting of Xijinping_, Sherbet_S, and Solesey in a light frigate, corvette, and gunship returned to the siege station the following day to attempt to resiege the station. After beginning the siege, the party was attacked by Lonestar forces again, who were still under the contract of Zealandia to defend the station. The Lonestar fleet sunk all Vega ships.

Solesey of Vega pays lonestar forces three credits to disengage from Omni's mercenary frigate.

Too late to join the fight directly, Omni arrived at the scene of battle in a frigate, having been hired by Vega. Despite Radiance's official position as allies of lonestar, the two sides were willing to fight in theory. However, lonestar opted to let Omni retreat unscathed, as the station was no longer under threat.

Side B comment: Vega had at this point decided to establish an alliance with Radiance, who gathered to help recapture the siege station that evening. Radiance accepted, and cut off their current alliance with lonestar to facilitate this new military union.

Due to the station captured that morning, Vega was not able to capture the DeepSpaceSignalGamma zone, and instead had Radiance pilots capture the station for Radiance, to deny the opposition the station.

Byron Steele Incident

Vegan and Radiant forces pursue eyrzeke's gunship on September 28th.

Once Radiance forces traveled to the station and began the siege, Vega forces started to gather in Sirius system to help the siege. Vega forces noticed a Lonestar fleet forming at texas. Assuming this force's purpose was to defend the station, Vega forces attacked a heavy freighter piloted by Byron_Steele in Sirius outside Lioda. The Freighter successfully escaped to a safe zone, but the attack was successful in distracting Lonestar's defenders from travelling directly to the siege station to counter. The ensuing fight resulted in one gunship lost from Vega, and both defending lonestar gunships were eliminated. The distraction from the station was successful, and Radiance's siege succeeded.

This event is cited by some Lonestar citizens as proof that Vega instigated the war against Lonestar. Vega maintains that the lonestar attack on Vega forces predating this engagement were the start of the war, justifying the attack. It should be noted that both sides only officially declared war publicly after this event.

Side A comment: Vega and Radiance had been attempting to form an alliance for a while now, especially with lots of friendships between vega and radiance players, on this day Vega wanted to give Radiance their contested station DeepSpaceSignalGamma, CursedSaturn(Radiance) with a few other radiants captured the station located in Horizon with the assistance of Vega. Anticipating a force like the previous day, Vega waited in Sirius (one of two adjacent systems to Horizon) to ambush mercenaries, Lonestar mercenaries (Eyrzeke, Abu42069) attempted to defend zealandia1 but failed to get to the horizon system, getting stuck in Vegas Sirius ambush. Vega seeing Zeke and Abu in 2k's decided it'd be difficult and timely to sink both due to the evasiveness of that class, so they decided to use a nearby Lonestar civilian named Byron_Steele who was in a heavy freighter transiting sirius as bait to lure the Lonestar forces into a direct fight. Byron_Steele fled unscathed to the nearby safezone planet of Lioda and the lonestar forces came there to assist. Radiance succesfully took DeepSpaceSignalGamma. A hunt on the mercenaries ensued for a long time but eventually lead to their demise, due to the nature that these were mercenaries on their way to contest Radiance, some Radiance forces assisted in the defeat of the mercenaries.

During this phase there was confusion from the Vega perspective on what the Lonestar mercenary contract was or why Lonestar was doing merc work for zealandia1 since the only statements made by Lonestar during this time were that they were doing merc work. Additionally not long before a Vega player had his settlement purge, Abu42069(Lonestar) claimed this land along with its Vega warships and whenever pressed about the ships, Lonestar (later admitting "thought it would be funny to be like “what ships”"-Eyrzeke) denied that they even had any of Vegas warships. With Lonestar rage-baiting Sherbet_S on his and Peern's (the player who purged) ships and an unknown merc contract and goal to keep stations out of Vega possession along with the suspicion that more would follow, Vega escalated the situation into a war, joined by Radiance and VA (a vega ally).

Due to both sides perspectives and stakes being different, the cause and attempts on who to blame the start of the war on vary widely. For Lonestar it's simply merc work (some svs fun) and claiming a settlement that purged. For Vega it's defending vs an annoying player (zealandia1) who's getting assisted by more than they can handle and having their warships taken. As stated earlier in the page most of vega, especially combatants were inactive during this time and the server was also inactive for combat in general. Many players who weren't inactive but are combatants such as Hextagon, Eyrzeke, Omni to name a few were itching about player combat for months before anything happened, and Vega being a combative nation would never turn down some fights.

Side A note: This was the wars first major battle of the war, from side A's perspective the enemy formation was so large it took a long time to form a suitable counter attack, the lack of combat readiness from Vega players such as WitherV (who didn't have ammo) and nungal (who needed a ship) almost had the attack cancelled. The battle initiated with Sherbet_S jumping the entire Vega side fleet directly into the middle of the enemy formation. An immediate chaotic battle with no time to organise for both sides lead to the Vega side with more experienced players taking advantage of the chaos by splitting up and dispersing the Lonestar side fleet.

Side A comment: In the south east corner of Regulus side B attempted to siege a Vega station, after an extensive delay to form a fleet side A ran almost short of time to respond before its capture. nungal arriving faster than the rest of side A's fleet went ahead to start disrupting the siege. It's uncertain from side A's perspective why, but side B didn't well up despite nungal jumping into the middle of their group, nor did they initially notice he even arrived there. Immediately after exiting hyperspace nungal used the nearby asteroid as cover and to hide from some of the ships inside the siege circle and started firing on their fleet, this caught Eyrzeke and Novamans attention the most due to Eyrzekes closer position and Novaman being in a manoeuvrable star fighter, Longy being the sieger had to give up the siege. The shock sent the enemies into a chasing frenzy which the asteroid separated them apart long enough for nungal to kite Eyrzeke and novaman safely until the rest of side A's fleet arrived. nungal was kiting west and the fleet was arriving from west, Eyrzeke already low in shield from nungal almost immediately started taking hull upon their arrival and shook novaman off chasing nungal.

Side A note: Lonestar took a station in Horizon, since it was early in the day for the majority of side A's pilots (morning time for americans on a weekday) to attend whoever was there had to scramble pilots together to respond and almost failed to do so.

This was nungal's first time sinking in both during the war and from a player in the history of the server.

The battle occurred in Horizon, near the gate of Horizon>Sirius inside Horizon large amounts of debris cumulate, All of the support ships of both sides consisting of gunships and corvettes separated from the two capitals (nungal and eyrzeke) to have a giant subcap brawl. nungal and eyrzeke south of the brawl duelled inside a heavy debris field. The debris was more numerous towards the gates direction which is where nungal was placed just outside of, with eyrzeke being in the clearer side, during the duel nungal had eyrzeke on lower shield health at range, but then eyrzeke changed tactic going straight into the enemy, nungal not wanting to get rammed backed off unknowingly sending himself directly into the dense part of the debris field where he then got stuck. eyrzeke noticed nungal getting stuck and immediately took advantage of this climbing in height and targetting only nungals bridge shield. despite nungals ship all having blue health shields and eyrzekes green, by taking out his bridge shield he was able to completely render his ship useless and sank. nungal escaped during the bridge explosion and later escaped the scene unharmed.

Ironically nungal complained to Solesey about the bridge weakness of the ship and made a suggestion on svs debris the day before this event happened.

Side A note: Earlier in the day nungal at Anthill, Aret attempted to work on the Anthill but was ambushed on foot by Novaman and TheGamingBanana logging in the adjacent area, he narrowly escaped their intent to kill, this event led nungal to be cautious for the rest of the day. During a moment nungal wasn't paying attention, colonist Consue logged in suddenly appearing at her home the Anthill in an attempt to work on her build unaware of a looming threat. nungal instinctively feeling something was wrong decided to check the game, upon seeing Consue joined he immediately went to warn and defend her. Since nungal logged off at the anthill previously he was directly within range of both Consue and a surprise attacker Novaman who snook into the Anthill main building and was about to kill Consue. nungal succesfully evacuated Consue and attacked Novaman who was on foot with their light gunship.

With a hunt for Novaman running on foot ensued by nungal, Novaman called for assistance and so did nungal, this immediately escalated into an Aret battle where Juuliett in a frigate and Longy in a frigate came as first responders.

nungal successfully killed Novaman who attempted to flee on foot and found his loot to be hilariously named given the failed attempt.

later joined by more of side A and eventually Abu also joined but it was futile given the numbers side A was willing to send at this moment.

This was also the first time in the war that either side attempted to camp homes on foot.

After the initial Aret battle ended and all sides returned home, Juuliett who was still around Aret in a frigate exited and jumped directly to Miami, the Novans main station base where they hold fleets at. This caused both Longy and Novaman to pilot a frigate and a destroyer to combat her. The side A forces were still within the system when this happened so they immediately went to sink the newly piloted ships.

Side A note: While attempting to siege multiple stations starting in Asteri and one in Ilios, moving through regulus to assist in Ilios Juuliett came within proximity to WitherBlood07 flying a freighter to their station in north Regulus, nungal orders Juuliett to engage, with response not fast enough WitherBlood07 arrived and reshipped into a destroyer and engaged Juuliett alone at the time, WitherBlood07 immediately had side B reinforcements from the same system since it's their home system. This sent side A into a reinforcement scramble where some of their ships were in Ilios and most in Asteri and Sirius. nungal thinking he could save Juuliett jumped directly into what was a large gank by several people (more people than what the log shows because they escaped without sink). Taking 4 of ~7-9 people away from Juuliett until the rest of side A's fleet arrived, it was still not enough and Juuliett sank just before their arrival. WitherBlood07 disengaged the chase from nungal when Side A's fleet arrived and because he was too fast for her. A large fleet battle in what was mostly a mixed class brawl ensued in north regulus while nungal was fighting just south of those kiting away from the rest of his chasers. The fleet battle went mostly in side A's favour due to the split up and the fact side A got an early sink on side B's capital piloted by WitherBlood07. Not long after that sink and a few sub cap sinks the rest of side B's fleet was able to fully disengage and the large battle ended with not many sinks.

Side A note: During inactive hours zealandia sieged a Vegan station in Horizon with the assistance of Abu, This prompted a response by nungal and SmolPotatoLord who at the time were the only ones around. During the fight between these four players lots of AI spawned around their station siege area forming a barrier on all sides the longer it went on for the more that spawned in. With Abu's player gravity wells locking all players in with no way out other than through the AI. Some of the AI locked on to nungal during the fighting, namely some of the more dangerous horizon AIs such as the reaver group which had phasers. While nungal and SmolPotatoLord were occupied by not dying to AI while being pressured by Abu, SmolPotatoLord slipped away from nungals protection into a duel with Abu where Abu succeeded in killing SmolPotatoLord, because of the duel and the location nungal was going to escape AI, not long after SmolPotatoLord sank he was able to escape Abu's gravity well to Ilios. By this time nungal suffered hull from the AI groups. Distracted from the AI and getting away nungal didn't notice at the time that XiJinping jumped into Abu causing nungal to want to re-engage or risk losing a capital. Eyrzeke then entered the battle with a starfighter and gets sank by XiJinping, Eyrzeke then reshipped into a destroyer and while he was making his way to Horizon XiJinping convinced nungal to head towards the Horizon>Ilios gate and meet Eyrzeke where he'd enter. Abu and AI chased nungal and XiJinping all the way to the gate from the siege station with XiJinping being slightly more ahead of nungal, the shield damage done was less than they regenerated, but nungal had hull damage from earlier so some of the hull belonging to one broken rear shield was being eaten away. When reaching the gate since XiJinping was ahead and nungal was being pressed, XiJinping accidentally goes too far past the gate leaving nungal in close proximity to the gate at the moment when Eyrzeke entered in at. Hundreds of blocks away XiJinping fought at range not knowing nungal was in brawl range. Uknowingly to nungal and XiJinping, Eyrzeke had equipped himself with a brand new destroyer prototype using new weaponry which gave it damage advantages in short range. Eyrzeke and Abu sank nungal and then they turned to XiJinping eventually after initial kiting from him sinking him too. Due to the ineffectiveness of Lonestars PDT choices nungal survived the sink and kept going attempting to sink Eyrzekes hulled ship with a blaster cannon, getting close to sink but not enough damage or ammo left nungal was left out of options and side A was completely defeated.
