The Vega-Nova War is an ongoing major military conflict on Horizon's End between the Novan-Separatist Alliance and the combined forces of Vega, Oblivion, United Luxit States, and Vask Authority. It is the largest conflict on Horizon's End since the end of the Ilios Alliance-Vask Authority War 7 months prior, the first conflict since the introduction of Interceptors, and has seen some of the largest battles in server history.
Prelude
Vegan Neutrality
Following the end of the Horizon Federation-RentDueYesterday War in January 2024 - a conflict which saw Vega in conflict with the majority of the server's players in its first two months - then-Emperor Vandrayk of Vega announced the "Vega Neutrality Act", which promised that "for the foreseeable future Vega would like to extend a cease of hostilities and neutrality to all nations". While the declaration was initially met with skepticism on account of Vega's past history of militarism and conflict with other nations, following this declaration Vega would refrain from initiating conflicts with other nations; indeed, Vega's only hostile military actions towards other major nations on the server whatsoever in the following year were the Battle of Asteri (a one-off occasion) in June 2024, and the Vega-Ekatera War in January 2025. Emperor MaidPierce of Vega was quoted on 20 February 2025 as saying, "fighting the entire server just does not sound fun anymore" - a change in posture that would substantially reshape politics on the server.
Novan-Vegan Relations
The nations of Imperial Nova and Vega have held some degree of hostile relations for much of their period of coexistence, on both Horizon's End and its predecessor StarLegacy. The nations fought directly in the Cheth Wars, the Vega-Nova War (2023), the Alliance of Regulus-Vega War, and the Horizon Federation-RentDueYesterday War, as well as indirectly by proxy in the Ilios Alliance-Vask Authority War.
Vega became mostly inactive for several months following the conclusion of the Ilios Alliance-Vask Authority War and the release of the Vask Authority Leak. During this time, Imperial Nova captured the majority of Vega's siege stations unprovoked, but uncontested.
Following their return to activity in December 2024, Vega began resieging the stations they had lost to Imperial Nova, prompting the Novans to attempt to resiege the station ArtifactAlpha from Vega. Vega intercepted the Novan fleet at the gates into Sirius, resulting in a fight known as the 30 December Incident. In the months following this incident, Imperial Nova and Vega never formally declared war. MaidPierce of Vega described the situation as a special military operation, where Vega only engaged Nova to protect their siege stations.
On Febuary 9, _Longy of Nova solo sieged Vega's DeepSpaceResearchStation, which was unsuccessful, with the Vegan military sinking his 2k. Nova then ceased sieging Vega stations, opting to instead contest United Luxit States stations, due partially to Imperial Nova going inactive in January and February 2025.
Conflict
March 6
March 6 2025, a group of Nova and TSA ships went to eastern Regulus, shot down z4nityy's Tackle Gunship. They then ventured into the Trench and then shot down Blockbuster019's Light Gunship This was when Imperial Nova and TSA officially agreed to form and alliance, and to begin the conflict.
7 March Vega-Nova Siege
On 25 February 2025, Imperial Nova publicly announced in a post: "[we're] officially un-killing the nation," soliciting recruitment of new members and cooperation with prospective allied groups, and claiming to offer "political influence, ships, materials, infrastructure, combat training, military protection, [and] action". On 6 March, the new, combat-oriented nation of Separatist Alliance took up the offer, striking a formal alliance with Imperial Nova at 3:06PM EST.
The following day, on 7 March, a Novan Frigate and Gunship, assisted for the first time by a fleet of 4 Separatist Starfighters, sieged Vegan-owned Siege Station ArtifactGamma in Sirius. While this was not the first siege battle between Vegan and Novan forces since the 30 December Incident. The battle was a decisive loss for the Novan-Separatist Alliance, with all six ships being destroyed.
The following day, citing "the open association with The Seperatist Alliance and known pirate organization 'SettlerGod'", Emperor MaidPierce of Vega announced "a Special Military Operation to prevent any further attacks by Imperial Nova or Novan associates". Emperor _Longy of Imperial Nova responded 13 seconds later with a jocular announcement declaring that "Imperial Noba declares WHAR" [sic].
March 7 - 15 Interlude
March 7
After the first military engagement, Thrawn31, at the time in Lonestar, elected to join the Novans in the war.
The evening of March 7, Vegan forces joined with BlockBuster019 to dispatch Novan warships in Regulus, successfully sinking a 2k Gunship, Starfighter, and Interceptor.
March 8
Vegan forces engaged TSA and Nova forces in the skies of Aret, resulting in TSA losing 8 Starfighters, Novans losing 1 Starfighter and 1 Interceptor, and Vega losing 3 Interceptors and 1 1k.
March 9
MaidPierce, GigaJeff, and Sciath of Vega again engaged TSA on Aret, Sinking 2 starfighters and sustaining no losses.
Thrawn31 of Nova successfully sunk a Vega civilian Amph, piloted by Skull Crusher.
March 10
TSA Forces were engaged by Oblivion pirates, which were joined briefly by MaidPierce, who assisted in sinking 2 Separatist Starfighters.
March 11
TSA Forces traveled to Luxit on Luxiterna to attack player braersss, who retreated to his BDP. However, braersss neglected to close the door securing the BDP, allowing Separatist forces to successfully kill him.
March 13
Braersss, on behalf of ULS sieged Novan siege station RegulusResearchStation, and took the station uncontested.
Sherbet_S, on behalf of Vega sieged Novan siege station IliosResearchStation, and took the station uncontested, bringing Imperial Nova's total siege stations to 0.
TSA Forces again travelled to Luxiterna to attack braersss, but were counterattacked by BlockBuster019 and Sherbet_S, who were able to sink 4 Starfighters, and 1 Speeder.
March 14
TSA Forces and Thrawn31 of Nova staged an ambush of vikator2583 of Vega's 12k freighter, which was countered by Vegan forces, resulting in TSA forces losing 3 Starfighters, Nova forces losing 1 2k, and Vega forces losing 1 4k.

March 18
Sherbet_S of Vega attempted to recapture IliosResearchStation, but abandoned the siege before Novan forces could arrive.
Nova and TSA forces gathered to siege Vega's station ArtifactGamma the following hour, preparing for a fleet battle bringing a 2k, two 1ks, and three Starfighters. Vega did not contest the siege, and Imperial Nova successfully captured the station.
March 19
United Luxit States station RegulusResearchStation was sieged by Separatist forces, and was captured uncontested.
March 22
TheGamingBananaV of TSA initiated a siege of Vega station RegulusFuelDepot, but was contested by Sherbet_S, resulting in the loss of 1 separatist 2k gunship and the siege failing.
Sherbet_S of Vega sieged TSA station RegulusResearchStation, successfully capturing the station, and sinking 2 Starfighters and 1 Speeder.
Allied forces from VA and ULS arrived at the conclusion of the siege, and additionally sunk 1 1k Gunship, and 2 more Starfighters.
March 23
Combined forces from Imperial Nova and TSA attempted to resiege RegulusResearchStation, but were countered by Vegan forces, resulting in the loss of 1 2k, 1 1k, and 3 Starfighters, and the siege failing.
March 24
Sherbet_S resieged ArtifactGamma from Imperial Nova, capturing the station uncontested.
