New Dominion Update Block!<!-- Can remove this section at some point probably -->
The probe is a new multiblock which will be added in the Dominion Update. They are arguably one of the most important new multiblocks as alongside the new Core Forge, it will be key to crafting the new T2 ship multiblocks. The probe will help you to find new minerals (Scordite, Vanadium, and Zircon) that are used in T2 cores as well as Assembly Cores<!-- I assume these will get their own page but im unsure. -->, a core component in many new multiblocks.

The Multiblock itself is relatively simple, consisting of just 2 iron blocks, a note block, any stair, 2 grindstones, 2 end rods, a sponge and a dispenser, but it cannot be fit on T1 combat ships. It can only be fit on the T2 Starfighter, Recon Fighter, and some T1 Civillian ships<!-- More information needed. -->.

The first thing you need to know about using the probe multiblock, is that the multiblock itself launches probes. This means that your starship will need to be equipped with a magazine. Additionally, the launcher counts as a heavy weapon, and as such if you have any other heavy weapon on the ship (if possible), you will need nodes. To launch probes, once loaded into the magazine on an active ship, you simple use it like any other heavy weapon, by right clicking. From there you will get info on both other active ships and Cosmic Signatures within a 7500 block radius in the system you're in.

Scanner Probes can be crafted using 1 gold nugget and 1 iron nugget in a shapeless recipe.

Combat Probes can be crafted using 1 iron nugget and 1 aluminum ingot in a shapeless recipe.

The probes are a stackable item and must be loaded into a starship magazine to be usable.

Using The Probe Launcher

The first thing you need to know about using the probe multiblock, is that the multiblock itself launches probes. This means that your starship will need to be equipped with a magazine. Additionally, the launcher counts as a heavy weapon, and as such if you have any other heavy weapon on the ship (if possible), you will need nodes. To launch probes, once loaded into the magazine on an active ship, you simple use it like any other heavy weapon, by right clicking a few times. From there you will get info on Cosmic Signatures within a 7500 block radius in the system you're in using Scanner Probes, and other ships in the same radius if using Combat Probes.
