Domion Update Feature
This Feature is one of the core features of the upcoming Dominion Update and is subject to more information and various changes as we get closer to the update.
Cosmic Signatures
Cosmic Signatures are randomly located events in space, which are detectable using the Probe multiblock. These can be one of a variety of points of interest offering opportunities for mining, scavenging, and PvE Combat. When they spawn, a message will be broadcast stating the system they are located in, after which point you will need to search that system with a scanner to locate the signature. Note: actual blocks at the signature will not spawn unless scanned by a probe, meaning you cannot just brute force around until you find a site unless you are tailing someone with a probe.
Asteroid Fields
Once scanned, generates a rare asteroid field which can contain the rare resources for T2 ships of Scordite, Vanadium and Zircon. These randomly spawn every 2-4 hours (tenative [needs specification if this is server, region, or system based]).
Wreck Sites
Once scanned, generates a wrecks site, which has chests locked behind minigames. Upon successful completion of the minigame the player will be able to loot the chest, potentially for rare materials, such as those used in Assembly Cores, a new component essential to new weaponry. If the player fails the minigame, the items will be lost.
NPC Ship Loci
These behave much like HE loci behaved prior to Dominion although they may be reworked after Dominion releases. The key difference is that instead of loci always being visible, you must scan them down. For those who are unaware, loci are locations where NPC factions will spawn a variety of ships. The size and strength of ship varies by the type of loci, and additionally, the rate at which ships spawn is related to the number of Player starships active in the area. As such it is advised to bring friends and allies if you wish to use a loci to its fullest, as with a larger fleet you can spawn more enemies and therefore get more loot. (Note: people often refer to NPC ships as "AI" or by their faction, such as the Privateers, Tsaii Raiders (Tsaii), Mining Guild, AI Pirates, Watchers and (the yellow alien one))
