Particle Shield
- Particle shields prevent starships from taking hull damage.
- Particle shields can be detected with [shield] or [particleshield] on the first line of the sign. Put the shield name on the second line.
- Particle shields provide coverage of starship blocks and prevents them from being destroyed.
- Classes of particle shields are spherical and have a set size, with the exception of box shields.
- Particle shield "Shield Capacity", or health, is only based on the total block count of the ship that it is mounted on, not the shield's total size.
- The center of a particle shield is the sign. Because of this, parts of ships that absorb more incoming fire can be reinforced by placing a greater number of smaller shields in those areas, while placing fewer large shields will tend to make them weaker.
- Don't spam shields! Every ship has an optimal number of shields based on its block count. You can see what this is for your ship via /starshipinfo. Going over or under this optimal shield count for your ship's class will result in penalties to shield regeneration and health.
Minimize shield overlap - explosions will deal the same damage to both shields at once.

Box Particle Shields protect a cuboid region instead of a spherical region.
On the third line of the sign, specify the dimensions of the shield (w) (h) (l)
The first number is the width of the shield, relative to the sides of the sign.
The second number is the height of the shield.
The third number is the length of the shield, relative to the front of the sign.
Dimensions must be odd numbers.
A primary advantage of box shields is the greater level of control they give shipbuilders over their shield layouts.

0.8i Class Particle Shields are used to protect vital starship components. The shield takes 90% less damage as long as the shield's health is above 80%. A ship can use one 0.8i shield for every 7500 blocks it has.
