The Assault Frigate is a Tech 2 variant of the Frigate which excels in countering enemy Logistics with the Neutralizer. The ship also gets the Gauss Cannon, which packs a punch at a close range. It offers higher damage than a Missile Frigate, but is significantly harder to aim with. Due to its high Direct Control speed, it is one of the few Capital ships which has a chance at dodging the Lancer's Anti-Capital Turrets, or shrugging off a volley, as it has an extremely high shield strength due to being an Assault Ship. It is strong against smaller ships, acting as a bulkier Assault Corvette with an Enhanced Shield.
