(We are NOT calling TS a "speed shuttle;" Pod Shuttle is already a pretty commonly accepted name. Cruise speed isn't even important, it's a 100-block ship. It can survive an SCV lol.) |

Pod Shuttle
Pod Shuttles (100 blocks) are an unofficial subclass of Shuttles used primarily for cheap player transit and suicide missions. They act as budget Recons, being small and agile, though with limited Combat Capabilities. Because they are the smallest possible ships, Pod Shuttles have large advantages in speed and evasion versus other Civil Ships. However, in a minimum size Starship, it is generally accepted to not be economical to include Crate slots or a Mining Laser, due to the ship's lack of Storage Capacity.
Tips
Shuttles are flexible because of their size, and are best used to ferry players around the galaxy. If you are a new player and this is your only trade ship class, it's recommended that you do Daily Commissions to make money rather than cargo hauling. A Transport can carry twice as many crates as the Shuttle, while having the same Jump Time.
If building a cargo shuttle, a 1,000 block maximum size is able to accommodate 15 cargo crates. Since the crates count as blocks once loaded, this must be accounted for in the hull's design.
Try to aim for:
- 985 blocks when empty (1,000 total - 15 crates)
Optionally, you can add:
- Tier 2/3 Hyperdrive
- Advanced Navigation Computer
- Tier 1 Mining Laser
- Multiple chests for item storage
- Power machines, like Item Chargers
