Shuttles are the first tier of Trade Ship Types. Shuttle craft are diverse thanks to their wide size range, allowing a designer to make a small passenger pod, a low-profile salvage vessel, or a hefty hauler ship. Compared to the Starfighter class, Shuttles can carry more containers, more cargo, and can mount mining lasers.
Shuttles are the first Civilian Ship Type, and are unlocked by default.

The Vesta is generally understood to be the best NPC dealer ship available. It costs only 200 credits and allows for players to easily haul cargo, do commissionsy, or just explore the galaxy.
The Vesta and Ozark are the two shuttle-class ships available from the NPC Ship Dealer.
Specifications
The features of this tier are:
* Requires 10% Concrete

* Standard size between 100 and 1,000 blocks
At max size a shuttle is capable of having:
* Can jump without a navigation computer; this GREATLY reduces jump range, and uses a lot of fuel!
* 15 Crates
* Can hold a maximum of 14-15 Crates at max size
* 7.5 double chests
* Jump range of 16,000 blocks(?)
* 1 Tier 1 Mining Laser
* A Basic Probe Launcher
Additionally, shuttles have a unique property:
* Can use /jump without a Navigation Computer.

Shuttles are flexible because of their size, and are best used to just ferry players around the galaxy. If you are a new player and this is your only trade ship class, it’s recommended that you do Daily Commissions to make money rather than cargo hauling.

If building a cargo transport, a 1,000 block maximum size is able to accommodate 15 cargo crates. Since the crates count as blocks once loaded, this must be accounted for in the hull’s design.
Pod Shuttles (100 blocks) are an unofficial subclass of Shuttles used primarily for cheap player transit and suicide missions. However, in a minimum size Starship, it is generally accepted to not be economical to include Crate slots or a Mining Laser, due to the ship's lack of Storage Capacity.

Pod Shuttle

Pod Shuttles (100 blocks) are an unofficial subclass of Shuttles used primarily for cheap player transit and suicide missions. They act as budget Recons, being small and agile, though with limited Combat Capabilities. Because they are the smallest possible ships, Pod Shuttles have large advantages in speed and evasion versus other Civil Ships. However, in a minimum size Starship, it is generally accepted to not be economical to include Crate slots or a Mining Laser, due to the ship's lack of Storage Capacity.

Tips

Shuttles are flexible because of their size, and are best used to ferry players around the galaxy. If you are a new player and this is your only trade ship class, it's recommended that you do Daily Commissions to make money rather than cargo hauling. A Transport can carry twice as many crates as the Shuttle, while having the same Jump Time.

If building a cargo shuttle, a 1,000 block maximum size is able to accommodate 15 cargo crates. Since the crates count as blocks once loaded, this must be accounted for in the hull's design.

Try to aim for:

 • 985 blocks when empty (1,000 total - 15 crates)

Optionally, you can add:
