The Assault Frigate is a Tech 2 variant of the Frigate which excels in countering enemy logistics with its Heavy Neutralizer. In addition to the Neutralizer, the ship gets the Assault Turret, which packs a punch but has a low velocity, making it well-suited for fighting other capitals as well as supercapitals. Due to its high Direct Control speed, it is one of the few capital ships which has a chance at dodging the Lancer's Anti-Capital Turrets. It is weak against smaller ships, which are fast enough to dodge its heavy-hitting turrets.
