The Assault Destroyer is a Tech 2 variant of the Destroyer, and is a strong and slow moving capital ship. This ship is designed to be a heavy-hitter, using Heavy Neutralizers and Assault Turrets to weaken their enemies regen then hit them where it hurts. This ship can even go toe-to-toe with larger ships such as the Missile Cruiser at times, given that it keeps it's distance and/or has adequate support backing it. This ship also has very strong shields, aiding in its ability to fight larger ships, however it's weapons have slow firing velocities, this ship struggles against smaller ships.

- Uses Heavy Neutralizers and Assault Turrets for weapons
- Heavy Neutralizers reduce enemy shield regen, while Assault Turrets pack a big punch
- Has a Jump Strength of 2, meaning it can jump through singular Interdiction Gunship Interdiction Wells or singular Disruptors
- Has a shield power multiplier of 1.25, putting it at the point where it has the strongest shield strength of all Capital starships.
- However, it has a cruise speed multiplier of 0.85, putting it at a point where it is a bit sluggish
History
The Assault Destroyer was the first Medium Reactor ship to sink, credited to lonestar in a fight against Vega. When defending a siege against Partisan Front's Regional Objectives by lonestar and Fortuna Sequence in Sunder, in July 2026, WitherV's Assault Destroyer was sunk by a fleet of 2x Assault Gunships, a Stasis_Corvette, a Destroyer, and a Scrambler, lead by Artfulwarrior13.
