Light Frigates are a subclass of Frigates which occupy a unique niche, set apart from both similarly-sizedCorvettes and larger Frigates. They are fast platforms that are large enough to usephasers (4,630), and they usually have a front bridge to most effecitvely utilize their powerful Plasma Cannon primary weapons; however, they're smaller than their Attack Frigate and Heavy Frigate cousins to dodge enemy capital ship attacks.
