The Missile Frigate is a Tech 2 variant of the Frigate which specializes, as the name would suggest, in missiles. The Missile Frigate gets access to the Arsenal Missile Launcher and the Light Missile Launcher. These tracking weapons grant it the ability to counter smaller ships that get too close to it. That being said, it has quite weak shields, meaning that without Logistics support, it can be easily taken down by ships that can outrange it, such as the Assault Frigate or Assault Destroyer.
Specifications
- Requires a Medium Reactor to function
- Requires a Fuel Tank to move
- Uses Methane as Fuel
- Uses the Light Missile Launcher and Arsenal Missile Launcher as weapon
- Light Missiles are mouse-guided and, as such, are well-suited for taking on small targets, but still do good damage against larger targets. They possess the ability to hit the opposite sides of enemy ships, allowing consistent damage on targets who can usually get away with turning weak shields away from the enemy.
- Arsenal Missiles are homing with a low velocity, meaning they are ineffective against smaller ships, but are good against large targets with high explosive power.
- With the agility of a Frigate, weak shields, and great firepower, it is a true glass cannon.
