Welcome to Horizon's End! This is an open-source community-built space-based Minecraft server, where you can build your very own movable starships. Our server is heavily focused around sci-fi ship versus ship(svs) combat, but features a robust settlement/nation system, player made factories, base defense, and economy.
The actual guide is under construction. In the meantime, here are some links to useful pages for new players.

<big>Your first Ship</big>
Move your ship to the world height limit (y=384).
When you first join the server (horizonsend.net), you will spawn in the Tutorial Hub. An assistant named J.A.N.E will walk you through the basics of ship flight(shift-movement, cruise, how to insert chetherite into a hyperdrive, how to jump(warp) through a warp-gate into other star systems. You will then be shown how to unpilot a ship, and be given a brief overview on the 4 Core System's, Asteri, Sirius, Regulus, & Ilios.

Your ship will enter space if it passes this limit.
* Asteri is a permanent safezone & the largest Core System with 5 planets, and so it is recommended for new players to live here while learning the game's systems, as other players can not kill them or sink ships for bounty/loot/sport. Gaia Station, an NPC Space Station, is located here. You can buy craftable unique food for credits here later on, and sell them for up to 100,000 credits a day, remember this!
* Sirius is the 2nd most active Core System, boasting builds and history from the earliest times of the server.  Prometheus, an NPC Space Station, is located here. You can sell crops here for up to 100,000 credits a day, remember this!
* Regulus is the most active of all the Core System's, filled with a plethora of space stations and the Hub of interstellar travel, being connected to Asteri, Sirius, and Trench, the servers main Mining System, almost all player pirates live here due to the frequency of travel and convenience of getting around.
* Ilios is on the fringe compared to the others, only being directly connected to Sirius. Land is scarcely contested, and it boasts the 3rd best ore rates on the server, behind Deep Space Mining Systems and Trench, respectively.  After making your decision, you will spawn in the respective Systems Station Port, where you can pick between 4 options for your first ship! You can always fly back to these to buy more ships, and will spawn here in the event you do not have a Cryopod or it is destroyed. You're ship options are as follows:
* 200C - Vesta (Shuttle). Your first ship! The first class of civilian ships, this one comes with a built in Item Charger for your Power Drill and a Power Furnace to provide power to the charger. It also has 6 sticky pistons for Cargo Trading, one of the money making methods on the server, and a much safer option than the next choice. If you're not sure what ship you like, pick this one! You can always purchase the others later.
* 500C - Vulture (Starfighter). Your first (war) ship! The first class of warships, this fast & furious fighter packs a devastating plasma cannon and Proton Torpedo. Both weapons can only fire forwards, but if you're looking to live on the more dangerous side, she wont do you wrong! You have no room for cargo, so you'll have to rely on sinking AI & Player Ships for money-making alongside daily commissions. This is not recommended as an option for those unfamiliar with the movecraft plugin, as combat involves a lot of snap turns and proper distance management.
* 1,000C - Ozark (Shuttle). Your first (mining) ship! Comes with a mining laser & incinerator, both which require no power! This is an amazing pick, as it makes gathering all the chetherite you will need early on to get around a breeze! Definitely pick one of these up sooner than later
* 6,000 - Amph (Transport) level 10 required.  This big buddy will be your crating friend! Able to be quickly gotten from the start, this ship can be your gateway to exploring the known sectors and making cash in style with its 24 cargo slots! Just remember to watch out for pirates, as this ship has rather weak offensive options for its size.<br />

Now that you have your first shiny piece of interstellar travel, you may be thinking "This place is so big, what do I do first to have the best experience possible?"

To maximize your experience, there is one thing to keep in mind: The ⭐ next to your player name when chatting or checking TAB denotes your currently decreasing 48 In-game Hour Noob Protection. This keeps other players from killing you (Enforced by 1 day Bans, if you see a star die, report it!) as long as you stay within the 4 Core Systems listed above. If you travel to Horizon, Trench, or any Deep Space System, you can be killed by other players at no penalty, as according to the rules.

This follows a formula of 48^((100-X)0.01), where X is any level you reach after level 1. For example, instantly reaching level 20 upon joining the server would lower your protection time from 48 hours to 22. You can check how much time you or any other player has at any time with /checkprotection. You can not use this on yourself while in creative!

So the goal is to earn as much money as possible while staying at as low a level as possible. This method will involve the player not leveling past level 10.

<u>Daily Checklist</u>
* Go to any Trade City and begin your Daily Commissions (Daily Quests), you can do up to 3 a day, and must complete one before accepting another, these earn a player 5,000 each, with the value increasing for each day the player has done these, up to 15,000each, for a total of 45,000 a day.
* Go to any Trade City and buy Cargo Crates from an Exporter. Buy an amount equal to how many sticky pistons your ship has, as you must place them on sticky pistons to travel with them. If you attempt to move in a ship while holding cargo in your inventory, it will alert you in chat and fall on the ground. You can buy crates 3 times from each city every day, so get hauling!
* You can join a fleet with other players and participate in AI Loci that spawn every few hours, the spawn times of which can be checked via /encounterstatus. Of all the options, ignore Unknown Signals, & Horizon Transit. The former gives too little money for its difficulty(Multiple AI Capital-Class Ships with good aim, and the latter only spawns Shuttles/Transports with terrible returns.) As you continue to kill AI and build a heat streak, you will eventually reach a soft cap of 50% rewards and a hard cap of 20%, but it is common to make up to 500,000 credits a day alone from this feature. Practice in /server creative against AI before taking these on, as it is a big difficulty curve when it comes to piloting ships in combat!  /warp Space Arena, /aiopponent summon Dagger/Bulwark/Resolute/Reaver are all good choices to practice against for Aim Training, Navigation, and Survivability. Get to a level you can kill these while taking 0 hull damage and remaining above at least 60% shield before taking on Loci, and remember to bring friends!
* Run /kit starter for the materials of a cryopod, as well as a basic armor and weapon kit, wrench for storing multiblocks, and workbench for creating them. (24Hour Cooldown)

Level 10
After your first 3 Daily Commissions, if you bought a Vesta, you will have enough credits to reach Level 10. You need 17,002.5 Credits. Run the command (/calcxp 10) and (/buyxp 6801 17002.5.) This unlocks Transports & Gunships to you, so remember to buy an Amph at a Ship Dealer when you acquire 6,000 Credits.
You can may be running low on Chetherite to jump around at this point, so buy an Ozark at a Ship Dealer for 1,000 credits, and use it to mine as much Chetherite as you can from the Core Systems (Particularly, Ilios, your best choice) DO NOT GO TO HORIZON, TRENCH, OR DEEP SPACE SYSTEMS TO MINE AS OTHER PLAYERS CAN KILL YOU BEFORE YOUR PROTECTION RUNS OUT!

From here, keep earning as much money as you can, and aim to have enough money to jump straight to level 60 once your new player protection runs out!

Your first Ship

When you first join the server (horizonsend.net), you will spawn in the Tutorial Hub. An assistant named J.A.N.E will walk you through the basics of ship flight(shift-movement, cruise, how to insert chetherite into a hyperdrive, how to jump(warp) through a warp-gate into other star systems. You will then be shown how to unpilot a ship, and be given a brief overview on the 4 Core System's, Asteri, Sirius, Regulus, & Ilios.

 • Asteri is a permanent safezone & the largest Core System with 5 planets, and so it is recommended for new players to live here while learning the game's systems, as other players can not kill them or sink ships for bounty/loot/sport. Gaia Station, an NPC Space Station, is located here. You can buy craftable unique food for credits here later on, and sell them for up to 100,000 credits a day, remember this!
 • Sirius is the 2nd most active Core System, boasting builds and history from the earliest times of the server. Prometheus, an NPC Space Station, is located here. You can sell crops here for up to 100,000 credits a day, remember this!
 • Regulus is the most active of all the Core System's, filled with a plethora of space stations and the Hub of interstellar travel, being connected to Asteri, Sirius, and Trench, the servers main Mining System, almost all player pirates live here due to the frequency of travel and convenience of getting around.
 • Ilios is on the fringe compared to the others, only being directly connected to Sirius.
 • 200C - Vesta (Shuttle).
 • 500C - Vulture (Starfighter).
 • 1,000C - Ozark (Shuttle). Your first (mining) ship! Comes with a mining laser & incinerator, both which require no power! This is an amazing pick, as it makes gathering all the chetherite you will need early on to get around a breeze! Definitely pick one of these up sooner than later
 • 6,000 - Amph (Transport) level 10 required. This big buddy will be your crating friend! Able to be quickly gotten from the start, this ship can be your gateway to exploring the known sectors and making cash in style with its 24 cargo slots! Just remember to watch out for pirates, as this ship has rather weak offensive options for its size.

Using tools

The starter Vesta & Amph includes an item charger and generator. The generator accepts uranium, redstone (or redstone blocks), & coal into the top furnace slot and generates power which can be used to recharge your power drill, and eventually other tools such as power armor.

How to jump to hyperspace

Put 2 chetherite in each of the hoppers of the hyperdrive

Move 1000 blocks AWAY from any planets (gravity wells prevent hyperspace travel)

Make sure your direction of travel DOES NOT intersect the 1000 block gravity well radius (or your ship will fail to jump)

/jump <destination> OR /jump <x> <z>

How to travel to other star systems

/route add <destination in other system> OR /route add <name of system> <x> <z>

If you are in space and piloting a ship, your travel path will be listed on the right sidebar.

/jump auto ; repeat until you reach the destination.

/jump clear or /jump undo to cancel.

With the press of a button (X by default, it will pull up the dynmap in-game, and you can warp anymore with just a simple right click! I highly recommend this option for newer players. What to do after obtaining your first ship

Daily Checklist

 • Go to any Trade City and begin your Daily Commissions (Daily Quests), you can do up to 3 a day, and must complete one before accepting another, these earn a player 5,000 each, with the value increasing for each day the player has done these, up to 15,000each, for a total of 45,000 a day.
 • Go to any Trade City and buy Cargo Crates from an Exporter.
 • You can join a fleet with other players and participate in AI Loci that spawn every few hours, the spawn times of which can be checked via /encounterstatus.
 • Run /kit starter for the materials of a cryopod, as well as a basic armor and weapon kit, wrench for storing multiblocks, and workbench for creating them.

You can build your own ship designs, but if you need an idea on where to start, Lonestar (@eyrzeke on discord) sells the most widely used ships on the server!

How to claim land

Now, you may have a few ships at this point and some ores stored in them and be wondering, "How do I get some land to store my valuables???"

We have 2 methods of land claiming for players not in a Nation:

 • /station create - creates a claim in space in a defined radius within any Core System. This is usually the cheaper option and better for small groups than a Planet Settlement Claim. There is no activity timer, and gives you exactly as much space as you want, without having to clear prior land, Provided you have the funds, of course. I recommend a station with a radius of 50 to begin, a 100 block circle is more than enough to park your ships, and it only costs 4,000. Run the command /station create personal namehere 50 3927 where you would like it to be.
 • /settlement create - creates a new settlement in unclaimed land on a planet. If you like to spend lots of time terraforming and want to make a beautiful cityscape with friends, this is the choice for you! Prices vary between 1,500c and 30,000, but you get an entire swath of land you can build and mine on to your desire. Please note if no one logs in to a settlement for over 30 days, the land will purge and anyone can buy it again. You will need to either join or create a settlement to form a Nation, so group up!

How to join someone

Ask in chat and/or Discord (/discord)!

Use the personal transporter tool to teleport to another player one time.

To join a settlement once you have an invite, use /s join. If you want access to a space station, the owner must run the command /station trusted add player (station name) (player name).

It is usually expected of you to learn the basics before joining others, but some nations commonly recruit those fresh faces to teach personally, to varying degrees, give them a chance!

How to make new ships

You can make your own custom ship designs on the creative server with /server creative.

Once you have a new design, save it with /blueprint save.

If you built a base, you will need to detect it as a platform, run the commands //pos1 & //pos2 on 2 opposite sides and heights to select a boxed area, then run //replace gray_concrete, pilot the platform as if it were a ship, type //undo, then save the blueprint normally

You can print saved blueprints in survival with the ship factory.

Nations

Once you have a settlement, you can create a nation (/n create name R G B cost), which allows you to recruit other settlements, participate in sieges, and claim more territories on other planets, and even entire Deep Space Systems! It costs 20,000 to create a Nation.

Note that many settlements are already part of nations, and that if you join a settlement you also join that settlement's nation.
